Mission & Vision

Identify – Refine – Equip – Send

The Titus Institute exists to identify, refine, and equip individuals who sense a call to ministerial leadership within the local church. Rooted in the biblical framework of the book of Titus, this course seeks to develop servants who are marked by godly character, sound doctrine, and faithful service.

This institute is not merely academic, but formational. Participants will be challenged to grow in holiness, deepen theological conviction, and develop the competencies necessary for preaching, teaching, and leadership. Through instruction, evaluation, and intentional discipleship, individuals will be prepared for faithful ministry.

The ultimate aim of the Titus Institute is to send out equipped and tested individuals who are ready to pursue their God-given calling with clarity, conviction, humility, and biblical faithfulness.

Why Titus?

Who Was Titus?

Titus was a trusted ministry partner and spiritual son of the apostle Paul. Paul called him “my true child in a common faith” (Titus 1:4, ESV). Although Titus was a Gentile, he became a faithful believer, church leader, and living testimony to the saving power of the gospel apart from Jewish ceremonial law (Gal. 2:1–5).

Paul entrusted Titus with difficult and important ministry assignments. He helped strengthen the church in Corinth, encouraged believers toward repentance and generosity, and demonstrated sincere pastoral concern for the church (2 Cor. 7:6–16; 8:16–24). Later, Paul left him on the island of Crete with this assignment:

“This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you.”
—Titus 1:5, ESV

Titus was therefore more than Paul’s traveling companion. He was a tested, trusted, and trained ministry leader who was sent to strengthen churches, develop leaders, defend sound doctrine, and model faithful Christian conduct.

Why The Titus Institute Is Named After Him

The name Titus Institute reflects the institute’s purpose of identifying, refining, equipping, and sending faithful leaders for service in Christ’s church.

Like Titus, participants are being prepared to:

  • Hold firmly to sound doctrine: “He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught” (Titus 1:9, ESV).

  • Develop godly character: Paul’s qualifications for leadership emphasize integrity, self-control, holiness, and faithfulness (Titus 1:6–9).

  • Teach what accords with Scripture: “But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine” (Titus 2:1, ESV).

  • Model the truth they proclaim: “Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works” (Titus 2:7, ESV).

  • Strengthen and order the local church: Titus was sent to complete unfinished ministry and establish qualified leadership (Titus 1:5).

  • Be ready for faithful service: Believers are to “be ready for every good work” (Titus 3:1, ESV).

The Titus Institute is therefore named after a man who represents doctrinal faithfulness, godly character, pastoral courage, leadership development, and missional obedience. Titus received instruction from a mature leader, demonstrated faithfulness through challenging assignments, and was sent to equip and strengthen the church. His life provides a fitting biblical model for an institute devoted to preparing men and women to steward their gifts faithfully for the calling God has placed upon their lives.
